Information for Potential Students
The UCL Centre VEIV administers three research degrees:
- MRes Virtual Environments, Imaging and Visualisation
- Three year EngD Virtual Environments, Imaging and Visualisation
- Four year modular EngD Virtual Environments, Imaging and Visualisation
The MRes and Three Year EngD are often taken together.
In addition PhD students can be associated with the UCL Centre VEIV, and they often take the MRes VEIV before registering for a PhD.
The UCL Centre VEIV takes speculative applications for the MRes or EngD at any time of year. We advertise posts below that have attracted industry sponsorship. Note all posts are advertised.

Frequently asked questions
I'm not a UK citizen, can I still apply for a funded PhD/EngD?
90% of our funded places are available only to UK citizens, or EU residents who have been living in the UK for the past three years. Applicants who are not British citizens but have indefinite right to remain in the UK may be eligibile for academic funding, pending the status of residency. For guidance, please refer to the EPSRC webpage.
EngD places are not generally available to international candidates due to the work placement component of the programme.
