London-based Maxeler Technologies is the producer of dataflow computing engines (DFEs) and advanced software tools for the most challenging low-latency and high-performance computing applications.
Based on a reconfigurable chip technology, the DFEs allow our partners and customers to perform complex on-the-fly data manipulations and accelerate heavy numerical applications, typically reaching up to 100x speed-ups and an unprecedented efficiency in terms of compute per Watt or per computing unit.

Maxeler Technologies is supporting a wide-scale university programme in order to popularise and diversify application of its pioneering technology. In several key areas, Maxeler supports CASE studentships, one of which is within the VIEV centre. Through this project, we have learned about the outstanding computing problems in the field of virtual reality and created a set of benchmark dataflow applications that allow Maxeler to expose its dataflow solutions to the visualisation community.
