This research aims to develop a rapid, efficient means of producing and interacting with the information required for strategic design at the earliest stages of projects, enabling Whole Life Cost issues to be investigated, conveyed to and understood by all relevant parties. By combining emerging technologies in human computer interface design with best practice in environmental design and Whole Life Costing within the context of real building projects the research aims to develop a pragmatic and practice driven approach to overcome a major obstacle to achieving sustainability in construction.
