Distributed Tracking and Situation Assessment:

The aim of this research project is to develop new algorithms that allow information fusion to occur in a distributed fashion over a network of mobile sensing platforms. These fusion algorithms must be provably robust and efficient, and must exploit both "low-level" attributes (such as position and velocity) and "high-level" attributes (such as inferred information about the intent of an object). This research work will involve algorithms development, performance evaluation, computer simulation, system integration and, possibly, testbed experiments using mobile robotic platforms.
