Prof Dejan Mumovic
In collaboration with UCL Energy Institute, Dejan is currently leading a group of industry/EPSRC co-funded research engineers developing the appropriate techniques necessary for evaluating built environment issues holistically
Working on the concept of ‘building pathophysiology’ Dejan is interested in multidisciplinary curriculum development and development of innovative teaching materials which challenge the ‘silo mentality’ approach to building design, whilst promoting awareness of the technical options available to engineers and architects, and their suitability for various building-related applications
Dejan is a cofounder of two specialist groups: IBPSA-England and CIBSE School Design Group. IBPSA - England is a non-profit international society of building performance simulation researchers, developers and practitioners, dedicated to improving the built environment. CIBSE School Design Group follows similar aims:
"Our mission is to improve the design, operation, and environmental quality of educational buildings by providing timely, unbiased impartial information on design techniques, building technologies and developing novel engineering tools to enable the industry to deliver truly sustainable educational buildings"
